About
We were fortunate that we found out about a life threatening food allergy without having to experience anaphylaxis. An exposure to peanuts was enough to cause a reaction and send us to our pediatrician who referred us to an allergist. Shopping, cooking, maintaining a nutritional diet, social activities, school lunches and everything else that includes food changed when we visited our allergist. We did not understand the full impact of our diagnosis for some time. We decided that we would keep track of what we learned as we made food allergy management a part of our lives. We decided to provide a resource where people who find themselves where we were might benefit from our experience and from the experiences of others facing the same or similar challenges. If you recently filled your first prescription for an Epi-Pen®, you probably already know that this isn't going to be easy. Some good news: We have carried an Epi-Pen® for years and never had to use one. Some more good news: You have found a website that will make managing food allergies easier. Good luck and good health!
